Rokumemo ("the app")

Summary: Rokumemo does not send your recordings, or the text made from them, to the developer or any third party. All transcription happens on your iPhone. To keep the app free, ads are served by Google AdMob, and some device information is sent to Google for that purpose. If you buy Rokumemo Pro, no ads are shown and nothing is sent for ads.

1. Your recordings and text

Recordings, transcripts, titles and marks are stored inside the app on your device. They are included in your iPhone backups (such as iCloud Backup).
Transcription uses Apple's on-device speech recognition (SpeechAnalyzer in the Speech framework). Audio is never sent to the developer or to any server.
The first time you transcribe in a language, iOS may download that language's speech model from Apple. No audio is sent when this happens.
Audio or text leaves the app only when you choose to share, export or copy it. The receiving service's own policy then applies.
You can delete recordings from the list, or by deleting the app.

2. Ads (Google AdMob)

If you have not bought Rokumemo Pro, ads are shown in the list, while a transcription is in progress, and at some screen transitions (never on the recording screen). To serve ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may send Google information such as:

Device and app information (model, OS version, language, app version)
Ad impressions and taps, and approximate location (estimated from the IP address)
Information used for fraud prevention, measurement and diagnostics

Rokumemo does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, so it does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). Your recordings and text are never used for ads. See Google's policy for how Google handles this information. Where the law requires it, a consent screen for ads is shown.

3. Permissions

Microphone: to record.
Speech recognition: requested only if needed, to transcribe recordings on your device.

4. In-app purchase

Purchases are handled by Apple's App Store. The developer never receives your payment details. StoreKit is used to check your purchase.

5. What the developer collects

The developer does not collect your personal information, recordings, text or usage. The app has no accounts and no analytics.

This website may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It uses no cookies and collects no personally identifying information.

6. Emails to support

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.

7. Children

Rokumemo is not directed at children under 13.

8. Changes

We will post any changes on this page, and announce major changes in the app's release notes.
